The Green Fund ...

The Green Fund is the result of a Small-Group project begun in early 2008. The Fund was initially established and funded by the Small-Group for the purpose of funding infrastructure projects that will fulfill one of the “Prayers of the People” said each week when we pray “For the just and proper use of your creation”.
Because of the success of the Fund's initial projects, the Fund is now a church-wide undertaking open to all members of the congregation who wish to participate.
The Green Fund focuses on projects that will return an energy savings to the church or have some other environmentally beneficial impact. To date, the Fund has paid for half the cost of replacing one of the HVAC units at Abbott House. The savings from the HVAC unit replacement have resulted in a decrease of approximately $200 per month in electric costs for that building. The Fund has also underwritten the cost for the purchased of low energy consumption fluorescent bulbs for the church Narthex and Moore House. Green Fund members teamed up to install the bulbs.
Donations to the Green Fund can be made by using the Green Fund envelopes found on the bulletin board in the Narthex, or by writing Green Fund in the memo section of your check and placing the check in offering basket.
